Green Earth
How Can I help?

Green Earth - There're many ways to get involved...

There're various ways that you may become actively involved in your community. Startup project ideas are wide and varied. There is no limit to what you can do. All you need is a responsible adult and a team of enthusiastic people in your group. The group may consist of peers or may be of mixed ages. This is only determined by the group that you belong to. The idea is to have fun.

WORD OF THE DAY

Biodegradable: capable of being decomposed (broken down) by natural means.

Synonyms: eco friendly, green, ecological.

OK - READY? - LET'S CHOOSE A PROJECT AND GET STARTED SHALL WE?

Recycling:

You can start your own individual recycling project at home with the collection of glass plastic and aluminum cans. This may even prove to be a $ource of income for you.

Sponsor a block:

This is a team effort and besides cleaning up can build stronger relationships among your selves. This involves choosing the location and organizing proper disposal of unwanted liquids and materials in you neighborhood. You'll probably require assistance with tools and maybe a truck to carry the load.

If for example you live in the Ebenezer or St Peters area, you may want to start there. Remember, simplicity rules.

Sponsor a school:

An entire school can undertake quite a bit of space in an attempt to clean up their immediate area. This also sends a distinct message to vandals in the area about the way you feel about your neighborhood.

Sponsor a park:

A clean park can enhance the beauty of your neighborhood and attract visitors to come back again. Additionally it sustains life especially those with streams running through them. Fish, birds and other animals benefit immensely from this.

Unwanted paintings:

Take a day or so to scrub, paint or wash away unsightly graffiti which is usually associated with hoodlum behavior.

Plant a Tree:

Plant a tree in an area that's being abused by the dumping of garbage. Dedicate to a worthy cause. You'll be happy to watch that tree grow and feel as though you've contributed to a positive healthy earth effort.

This has been effectively done through the Saunders area.
